Koparr SDA Church Expands Gospel Work Along Sepik River

KOPARR, EAST SEPIK PROVINCE – A remote church on the banks of the mighty Sepik River is making waves, planting new churches and taking the gospel across mission borders like never before!

Over the past weekend, I had the privilege of visiting Koparr, one of the fastest-growing Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) branch churches under Darapap organised church. Located on the Sepik delta, this faithful congregation is making a significant impact, having established two additional branch churches and expanded into three new mission fields.

What is even more remarkable is their outreach beyond the Sepik Mission, reaching into the Ramu area under the Madang Manus Mission. This bold step reflects the unwavering commitment of church members to the Great Commission, taking the message of salvation to unreached communities across mission boundaries.

Since the arrival of the first missionaries in 1950, Koparr has remained steadfast in its faith. Today, its members are not only growing their local congregation but also advancing God’s work in the broader region. “This expansion is evidence of God’s blessings,” said a local church elder. “We will continue to plant the gospel seed and trust that the Lord will guide our work.”

The Koparr SDA Church is lighting the way along the Sepik River and beyond, carrying hope and salvation to those who need it most. As these faithful members press on with their mission, may God keep blessing their efforts and guiding their path.
