Spiritual Resources Delivered to Remote Kapore Region

10 Apr 2025

Several members of the Kapore Seventh-day Adventist Church in Sandaun Province have received much-needed spiritual resources, delivered during a recent visit by the Sepik Mission team.

Pastor Michael Lus, Director of Sabbath School and Personal Ministries (SSPM), coordinated the distribution effort, which focused on equipping congregations with Bibles, study guides, picture rolls, and other Adventist literature. The main drop-off point was Kapore village, where the team met with volunteer missionary Philip Wewe.

“These churches are isolated and rarely receive printed materials,” said Pastor Lus. “Our goal is to make sure they’re not left behind. These resources will support local leaders, children’s programs, and church members in their spiritual growth.”

Philip Wewe has been serving voluntarily in the region, ministering to several congregations across the inland communities. He will oversee the distribution of the materials to local church groups and Sabbath School classes.

Picture rolls—especially valuable for teaching in rural areas with limited reading access—were among the key resources delivered. They are expected to support children’s ministries and small group Bible studies.

The resource drop is part of Sepik Mission’s broader effort to maintain strong connections with its congregations and to empower church leaders with practical tools.

“We’re committed to supporting both the spiritual and physical needs of our remote members,” said Pastor Lus. “This is just one part of that commitment.”
