Vanimo, Papua New Guinea — Corrie Sample shares her family's inspiring journey as they prepare to welcome new missionaries to the remote village of Ama. Their story is one of dedication, faith, and the power of perseverance.
In 1994, Jack and Elana Sample brought their children, Raymond and Corrie, to Papua New Guinea to serve under Adventist Frontier Missions. Their destination was Tipas, a village nestled in the upper Sepik River region. Over the years, their commitment to the mission has only grown stronger, with Jack returning six times to continue their work.

Now, the Sample family is eagerly awaiting the arrival of Joella and Sean, a new missionary couple set to serve in the neighboring village of Ama. Joella, a close friend of Corrie's, and her husband Sean will be working closely with the community, and the Samples have been instrumental in preparing for their arrival.
After securing official approval to build a house for the new missionaries, the family embarked on a journey to reconnect with the people of Ama. Despite the challenges of limited communication and transportation, they were met with blessings at every turn. A company truck picked them up partway, and they were able to connect with key figures in the community, including James, a logging company boss, and Gaspar, who has been maintaining the small SDA church in Ama.
Daniel Yamu, the landowner, reaffirmed his commitment to the mission, ensuring that the land promised in 2022 was still available. The family spent the night with Gaspar and his family, witnessing firsthand the impact of their dedication and the community's eagerness to welcome the new missionaries.
