01 Mar 2025

YANGORU-SAUSSIA: Sixteen people were baptized in Hambuhe village, Yangoru-Saussia district, East Sepik, today following a two-week evangelistic crusade led by Minister Kimon Kaple.

The nightly meetings, which ran from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, saw a strong turnout as community members gathered to hear messages of hope and transformation.

In a significant development, local community leaders and landowners met with church representatives and agreed to allocate land for the construction of a Seventh-day Adventist Church in the village.

The event concluded with a baptism ceremony led by Sepik Mission’s Sabbath School and Personal Ministries (SSPM) Director, Pastor Michael Lus, who commended the efforts of the hosting church and district in organizing the crusade.

He expressed gratitude for the commitment shown by the community, saying the new church building would serve as a place of worship and spiritual growth for the people of Hambuhe.
