Nagum Adventist Secondary School in Sepik Mission received a timely visit on Sunday, August 17, from the Adventist Community Services of Wewak Island West Coast District, bringing encouragement and much-needed supplies to students and staff.

The program was led by Adventist Community Services coordinator Joyce Asorong, together with District Director Pastor Francis Nima. They were joined by local church leaders and members from Meni, Niugo, Gander, Yawasoro, Wom, and Tangara churches. Also present were Minister Danley Tarato from Tangara Church and Minister Gilley Waro from Meni Church.

The group contributed garden produce, soap, toothpaste, toiletries, and other household items to support the school. These gifts were deeply appreciated as the school continues to face financial hardship.

Nagum Adventist Secondary has not received its Tuition Fee Free (TFF) funding for two consecutive quarters, placing heavy strain on its operations.

School bursar Miss Jasmine Tom explained, “We received some grants in January, but the amount was much lower than expected. We are desperately praying for the Lord’s intervention while our principal continues to follow up with the Department of Education in Wewak.”

The visit by the Adventist Community Services was a reminder of the church’s care and commitment to education, even in difficult times. Their act of kindness not only provided material relief but also strengthened the faith and morale of the school community.
