ADVENTIST students from Maprik Secondary School stepped boldly out of their comfort zone and took the lead in market witnessing as part of the 150th Global Adventist Youth Day celebrations, demonstrating that the next generation of the church is ready and willing to be messengers of the gospel.
The Global Youth Day reached its climax when the Maprik Secondary School Adventist Students combined forces with the Miko Adventist Youth Ministry to bring to life the “Communion in Action” event. It was a programme defined by youthful courage, with students confidently leading out in the week’s sermon and preliminary programs — a sight that became the highlight of the occasion for the church.
The celebration concluded with a powerful sermon delivered at Miko market by Rex Aila, President of the Maprik Secondary School Adventist Students. Standing before marketgoers and community members, Aila’s address brought the celebrations to a fitting close — carrying the message of faith beyond the church walls and into the heart of the community.
The initiative stands as a bold reminder that young Adventists across the Sepik region are not passive observers of the church’s mission — they are active participants, willing to go where the gospel is needed most.
