Miko Adventist Church Brings Hope and Food to Humbi Police Station Inmates and Officers

04 May 2026

MIKO Adventist Church extended its community ministry beyond the church walls this week, paying a pastoral visit to Humbi Police Station in the Wosera-Gawi District to bring spiritual encouragement and practical support to inmates and police personnel alike.

At the time of the visit, 26 male inmates and one female inmate were in custody at the station. Church members distributed food and shared words of encouragement with both prisoners and officers, creating a moment of warmth and fellowship in an unlikely setting. The pastor of Miko Adventist Church delivered a message from Scripture, reminding those present that regardless of their circumstances, the love of Jesus remains with them.

The inmates responded with genuine gratitude, expressing appreciation for the visit and appealing for more outreach of the same kind in the future. Police personnel at the station were equally encouraged by the gesture. The program concluded on a positive note, with both groups receiving the food, fellowship and encouragement in the spirit in which it was offered.

The visit is a reflection of the church’s understanding that ministry does not wait for people to walk through its doors — it goes to where people are, including those in custody, and meets them with dignity, food and the unchanging message of God’s love.
