Kubalia District Church Leaders Gather at Nangumarum for Pastoral Retreat and Leadership Training

20 Mar 2026

A TOTAL of 21 church leaders — three ministers, one pastor, and seventeen elders — from across Kubalia District are currently gathered at Nangumarum for a four-day Retreat Training running from March 19 to 22, with camp set up on Wednesday and sessions underway Thursday through to the close of Sabbath.

The retreat brought together leaders from three organised local churches — Musuhagen, Japaraka, and Numbohu — alongside representatives from ten company churches in the district. The event was facilitated by Kubalia District Director Pastor James Amos, who led the participants through a focused series of sessions on pastoral and elder leadership.

Sessions covered four key areas: the importance of pastors and elders functioning as a unified team; the distinct roles and responsibilities of each; the call to provide authentic spiritual guidance in church leadership; and a study of the critical difference between secular and spiritual models of leadership. Together, the topics challenged participants to lead not merely by title, but by godly character and example.

The retreat has been further enriched by the participation of Stewardship Director Pastor Martin Singu, who joined the group over the weekend and is contributing to discussions on faithful and accountable church leadership. The program is expected to conclude on Saturday, March 22, 2026.
